Here’s a nice article in the NY Times about the Paso Robles, California wine region north of Los Angeles.  This is about 3 or 4 hours north of us, and it really is a wonderful area to visit.  It’s not as stuffy as the Napa / Sonoma areas and easier to get to for us.  It’s old California without too much development.
